Thomas DeAngelis' Endoscopic Spine Surgery Journey in Thailand

Thomas DeAngelis, uh, from Florida, USA. Had a very serious, acute onset 14 years ago, uh, was completely debilitated and immobile totally for about a month. Us tall guys usually have back problems, and—but, uh, you know, back when you're young, you think that the harder you push it, the better you build your body. And then, and you know, in those days, I was totally, uh, ignorant on the—the physiology, if you will, of what a disc is. And it's basically like a tyre. Once you wear out your disc, it's like a tyre that you just simply have to replace it.

[00:54] Thank goodness for the internet. When—when I found out that Bumrungrad had the reputation and the skill set, the—the actual, uh, pioneering....read more

Piero's Arthroscopic Hip Surgery Success Story

My name is Piero Papa, I'm 63, from Canada. Before, I was in the most pain I've ever experienced in my life. I'm very active, and to manage that pain, I needed to take a lot of painkillers, a lot of anti-inflammatories, and I did that for approximately 6 months to discover that I needed microscopic surgery. At that point, I needed to do something. I could not wait in my country for a 3-hour procedure.

I was admitted in the morning. I was given a full scan, stuff we don't do back home. The MRI was three times longer than back home. The care, the attention... the word I use, if it's perfect, is called impeccable, absolutely. I was prepped, I was instructed what was going to happen, the amount of time, and I was.....read more

How Advanced Cancer Care in Thailand Helped Peter Face Stage III Cancer

My name is Peter Gysegem. I come from the United States of America, and I've been living here for seven or eight years now. On my first visit to Thailand in 2002, I got a little bit of food poisoning and I got the best care, even though the hospital wasn't as big at the time. Also, because others of my acquaintance have rated this the best hospital in Thailand, and my experience is, yeah, I agree with that.

Doctor who I believe is overall managing my case is Dr. Thospol. He is a gastroenterologist here, highly rated internationally. My oncologist is Dr. Bun. I could not ask for better medical....read more

The Rezūm Procedure Helped Change Clay's Life

Hi, my name is Clay Miller. I'm an American, and I live here in Thailand. I've actually lived here for over 20 years, and I'm 60 years old.

So when I turned 55, I started struggling with different symptoms like slow urination, having to urinate many times during the night, as well as urinary tract infections or UTIs. So it was the UTI specifically that kept recurring over and over. I would say over a six or eight-month period, they recurred four or five times, and I was on antibiotics. I was on different prostate medications to try to help reduce the size of the prostate or improve my symptoms. And then at the end of last year, in 2022, the symptoms just got notably ....read more

Ms. Maike Stahmer’s Spine Surgery Journey in Thailand

I suffered for a long, long time from spinal stenosis with severe pain travelling down into my leg, and I could not achieve any medical treatment—satisfactory medical treatment—in Canada at all.

But the first direction I should consider is look at what other international hospitals are offering. So, because my background is German, I chose to look at some German clinics. And next to the German clinics, Bumrungrad came up all the time, and I looked at it, and it showed Thailand. And I thought, "Thailand sounds very good, never mind the surgery, but the climate and the people."....read more

Arrhythmia Can Be Treated

About 10 weeks ago, I walked up a flight of stairs, and I noticed when I got to the top of the stairs that I was a little bit out of breath. And then for 3 weeks after that, the breathing—the breathing got steadily worse to the point where I couldn't sleep.

I tried every position in bed you can think of to try and sleep, but I couldn't, because every time I shut my eyes, I became out of breath. So I—in—because I hadn't slept for so long, this was really scaring me now. So I decided, "I need to see a doctor."
